Speaker: Maxine Marvosa – Maxine is currently the Assistant Director of Rutgers Gardens. She has a BS in Biological Sciences, Rutgers University, a Masters in Wildlife & Fisheries Resources, Clemson University and is pursuing a PhD at SEBS.in the Ecology and Evolution Dept, studying the endophytes in trees, looking for their potential for disease resistance. FLORAL DESIGN: Spring Is Sprung! A minimal design suggesting Spring's arrival. Notable Community Service includes: Military Family Recognition flower baskets, Christmas decoration of the Flemington Court House, Yearly Scholarships, Arbor Day tree planting, Custom flower arrangements distributed in partnership with Meals on Wheels. S av e T h e d aT e ! for the 2025 Annual Book Sale on April 26-28 brought to you by Friends of the Hunterdon County Library The Friends of Hunterdon County Library (FOHCL) are holding their annual used Book Sale on Saturday April 26th through April 28th. This year marks the 27th Annual Book Sale sponsored by volunteers of FOHCL who have organized this major fundraiser for the purpose of supporting and enhancing the Hunterdon County Library System. What does FOHCL do? Financial support is given for programs such as Maker's Day for youths, lecture series, concerts, book kits for lending to community book clubs, general programs and activities, Museum Pass Program as well as student college scholarships and supporting the upgrade of library facilities. The book sale is an all-volunteer effort, organized by FOCH members. Book donations are needed to supply the sale. Hunterdon County Fair Grounds in Ringoes DROP OFF DRIVES: Saturdays April 12th and 19th from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. DONATIONS at North Branch Library, Clinton: Tuesday April 8nd and Wednesday April 9th until 5:00pm and Thursday, April 10th until 3:00pm. Drop offs begin at 9:30am and are limited to 3 bags or boxes. Additionally, books may be dropped off earlier at either the Headquarters or North Branch locations following the donation guidelines on the Hunterdon County Library website. Donations are limited. Want to get involved? FOHCL needs you! There are numerous volunteer opportunities, from set -up at in Ringoes, sorting book donations and organizing books at the genre tables in the weeks preceding the sale. During the sale, volunteers are needed for organizing tables, acting as cashiers and greeters along with directing parking during the sale. Volunteers may select a schedule that will work best for them -sign up for a few hours, a few days, or every day! Help is needed from Thursday April 10th through Tuesday, April 24th. Volunteer opportunities are available for both sites - Ringoes at the Fair Grounds and North Branch Library in Clinton. Students are welcome to participate if 13+ years old and service credit will be given.
