1 7 f e b r u a r y 2 0 2 5 w o m e n ' s f o R u m : s h A R i n g w i s d o m Dear Ladies – HAPPY NEW YEAR! One of the things I love most about doing the WF program is the research that goes into each topic. Usually, I'm familiar with the subject at hand and so begins the exploration. But sometimes, researching our topic yields a complete revelation. Such is the case with Marian Anderson. Of course, I'd heard of her, a celebrated African American Operatic star, but that's where it all ended. My research has unveiled a remarkable woman not only of extraordinary talent, but strong of character yet humble of demeanor, of a deep and abiding faith. A role model and hero. To honor Black History Month this year, we will celebrate the life and brilliance of Extraordinary Woman Marian Anderson. LUNCH WITH MARIAN ANDERSON, Thursday February 13 at noon. Dillon Library, Bedminster NJ. Admission is $20. February is also the month of Love! All kinds. Romantic, filial, love of siblings, and extended family and friends, of pets... and, of other different "loves" - those inspired with specific purposes in mind. Enter a lovely English girl with piercing blue eyes, flaming red hair and a beguiling and intelligent persona. Have her born into the society of the British upper classes of titles and great land holdings, but in this case, cash shortages. Getting this child well married becomes a primary objective. And so begins the tale of how pretty Pamela Digby learned the value of trading love for power and money and the high echelons to which it can lead. Reads like a novel, yes? It's not. LUNCH WITH PAMELA HARRIMAN: Thursday February 27 at noon. Dillon Library Bedminster NJ Admission is $20. Stay warm! As always, Evelyn Breheney Glynn, Founder/Director Women's Forum Upcoming event dates: March 13 & 27. Agape does not begin by discriminating between worthy and unworthy people, or any qualities people possess. It begins by loving others for their sakes. Therefore, agape makes no distinction between friend and enemy; it is directed toward both." ~ Martin Luther King Jr. "There is always madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness." ~ Friedrich Nietzsche "Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage." ~ Lao Tzu "Love does not dominate; it cultivates." ~ Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
