V o l u n t e e r s p o t l i g H t a t t H e F l e m i n g t o n a r e a F o o D p a n t r y At the Flemington Area Food Pantry, we have so many volunteers who are phenomenal! This month we focus on JR who is ESPECIALLY amazing to us because his son John owns a pottery studio in Pittstown and donates to the Empty Bowl. We love our potters! Thank you to Tuesday Team Leader, Rick Hyman, for his selection and write-up. "In early March, Jim Barile had to be away from the food pantry for 8 weeks due to surgery. Jim is in charge of the walk-in refrigerator and freezer in the back. I knew I needed a replacement who was just as hard working and dependable as Jim to fill in. I chose John Reinking (some on our team call him "JR"). John did an outstanding job in Jim's absence going above and beyond. It is not always easy knowing the freezer inventory and continually going in and out of the freezer to restock. At the same time, John was working with volunteers filling orders to ensure they had the freezer and refrigerator items they need. Since we are serving up to 80 neighbors in 2 1/2 hours, this role is fast paced. At the same time we are storing donations coming in from all local stores. John did such a good job in these areas, and, most importantly, he has a great attitude. I had so many compliments about John from team members." THANKS, JR! We think you are super cool! It was a busy summer at the Flemington Area Food Pantry! We are so grateful for this time of year and the bounty of produce that we receive from local farms, America's Grow-A-Row, Rolling Harvest, Norwescap, home gardeners, and our very own community garden. Our neighbors are grateful, too! They love being able to choose items their families enjoy ... or would like to try! MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR THE FAFP EMPTY BOWL on October 25! This prestigious award is presented by Forbes and Statista Inc., the leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The award list was announced in late August, and can be viewed on the Forbes website. America's Best-In-State Employers 2024 have been identified in an independent survey from a vast sample of over 160,000 employees working for companies employing at least 500 people within the U.S. The ranking is open to companies from all industry sectors. Around 4.4 million employer evaluations were considered. The consideration of data from 3 years allowed a robust differentiation between organizations that consistently perform well from those that may only have had a single good year. An employer's final score is determined on a state-by-state basis and is built upon two types of employee evaluations: 1. Personal Evaluations: Employees' willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family. 2. Public Evaluations: Recommendations from friends and family members of employees, or members of the public who work in the same industry- also known as indirect evaluations. "Hunterdon Health is honored to be recognized on the Forbes list of America's Best-In-State Employers 2024. We take great pride in creating a culture of kindness where our employees feel valued and empowered to provide the best care for our patients," stated Violet Kocsis, MBA, SHRM- SCP, FACHE, Senior Vice President of Corporate Services and Chief Human Resources Officer. Statista publishes hundreds of worldwide industry rankings and company listings with high-profile media partners. This research and analysis service is based on the success of statista.com, the leading data and business intelligence portal that provides statistics, relevant business data, and various market and consumer studies and surveys.
