Enjoyed the Newsletter's history [CTNL June 2024]. Appreciate the articles, adverts, quotes. Refreshing to see a professionally well done work at a time professionalism is no longer common. Thanks a million, All the best, Slainte' – Vince Bury Dear Vince – Thank you so much for your kind letter! A lot of work and thought goes into each issue of CTNL, and it makes all of the effort worthwhile knowing that you, and readers like you, appreciate this publication. Keep reading us! Take care, Julie Hi Julie Pointillism!!! Impressionism lives in Clinton!! That [June 2 0 2 4 ] c o v e r i s I T ! ! I t ' s gorgeous. Just looking at it puts you in a better mood. Perfect summertime fare! Hope you are enjoying this beautiful weather. F i n g e r s c r o s s e d f o r a gentle season. Thank you for all the generous support [of Women's Forum]. And for such a beautiful magazine. – Evelyn Dear Evelyn Thank you! I actually designed that cover for the May issue, and then realized that it actually looked more like "June" to me, like a mosaic you might find beside a pool (so then I had to scramble to design the May issue's cover). I'm so glad you like it... it's summertime – yay – and I'm always happy to help the Women's Forum! – Take care, Julie Dear Ladies – As if she hadn't already made her mark as one of Hollywood's foremost leading ladies, when her career was beginning to "lag" (as happens) Bette Davis took on a role with a scripted line that would immortalize her in the character of Margo Channing and revitalize her stunning career. Quite simply, there is no other Margo Channing. Bette's range of characterizations - from vixen to victim, to royalty, to murderess, Southern Belle, siren, and even some comedic roles - were remarkable. For a little twist on our customary Summer Movie Series, this July we'll be keeping company with Bette all month starting with a documentary on her life - STARDUST - THE BETTE DAVIS STORY. Luncheon event, Thursday July 11 at noon. Dillon Library, Bedminster, NJ. Admission: $20.* Glamorous beyond words, filmed in stark black and white (way too sophisticated for color) ALL ABOUT EVE is a 1950 American drama written and directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz. It is based on Mary Orr's 1946 short story, "The Wisdom of Eve". Expect fireworks; it is July, after all!! Luncheon event, Thursday July 25 at noon. Dillon Library, Bedminster, NJ. Admission: $20.* *To register for our programs contact us at: womensforumusa@gmail.com. A little aside: For me, one of the sweetest benefits of Summer in my corner of the world is how our little town of Clinton, NJ comes to life on the weekends. On Friday nights there is live music all over town – not only one band, but tucked all over Main Street. On the sidewalk, in an alley way, on a porch, on the Art Museum patio, with Rock at one spot, Folk at another, some moody and sensuous Bossanova, a soloist with a guitar, a full band on the Museum patio, all free! Saturdays and Sundays are filled with shopping, events at our Red Mill and Art Museums with activities for all. Our restaurants and coffee shops and ice creameries have outdoor seating and people and dog watching (the pooches eat up the attention!) are all part of the fun. If it sounds like I am in love with our little town, I am. And since "loving" is sharing, I hope to run into you sometime this Summer... "Downtown"! www.VisitClintonNJ.com Coming up: August 8, (only one event this month) September 12 and 26. As always, Evelyn Breheney Glynn, Founder/Director Women's Forum W o m E N ' S f o r u m ~ J u l y 2 0 2 4 " f a S t E N y o u r S E a t B E l t S ; i t ' S g o i N g t o B E a B u m P y N i g h t !
