The funding may be used over a three-year period and may not be used for general operating expenses. The process was kicked off with a virtual information session on June 18. For more information about the session, contact Lawrence Brooks at: lbrooks@binnaclehouse. org. That session was recorded and attendance is not mandatory to apply. The grant application will be released in early July with a deadline of mid-August. Impact100 Hunterdon is the newest chapter of the Global Impact100 initiative and joins other existing chapters throughout New Jersey and the tri-state area. Impact100 was founded by Wendy Steele in 2001 in response to feeling as though women's roles in philanthropy needed a new way to be expanded and encouraged. Wendy launched the organization with the goal of empowering women to see themselves as activists through utilizing large grants to transform their communities. The Impact100 model is simple; at least 100 women come together to donate at least $1,000 each so that a $100,000 transformational grant can be made to a local charity. This grant is available to eligible Hunterdon nonprofits across five broad focus areas: Arts & Culture; Family; Education; Health & Wellness; and Environment, Preservation, and Recreation. Impact100 is dedicated to offering women a framework to help take their philanthropic work to the next level, making a transformational difference in their communities. Impact100 is a place for women who care deeply, who dream wildly, and who believe that, together, they are an unstoppable force for good. The inaugural Impact100 Hunterdon $100,000 grant will be awarded at the organization's annual membership meeting on November 13, 2024. Finalists will be announced in the fall and Impact100 Hunterdon members will vote on their choice for the most impactful program or project. Those individual votes will be audited and tallied by an outside party and the winner announced that evening. Grant Committee Chair, Bonnie Duncan says, "This is a great opportunity for nonprofits that do amazing work in Hunterdon County. We see what you do and our membership is really excited and passionate about coming together to fund a project that helps our county, which is often overlooked by regional and larger funders. More than just a funding opportunity, we see this as a unique outreach opportunity and a way for our members to learn more about the impactful work being done in our county so we encourage all eligible agencies to find out more." Founded in 2023 in partnership with Binnacle House Community Foundation, Impact100 Hunterdon believes that women have the power to transform the Hunterdon community through collective giving. The new chapter is driving towards a goal of 100 women in membership by June 30th, 2024. More than just a fundraising effort, Impact100 Hunterdon provides events, networking, and educational opportunities to gather women together and become a collective force for good. The group aims to spread awareness about the needs in Hunterdon County, the work that Hunterdon nonprofits are doing, and how everyone can make a difference. More information is available about the grant and membership opportunities at the Impact100 Hunterdon website https://impact100hunterdon.org/.
