Dennis Dale McLain is an American former professional baseball player. He played for ten seasons in Major League Baseball as a right-handed pitcher, most prominently as a member of the Detroit Tigers. In 1968, McLain became the last Major League Baseball pitcher to win thirty or more games during a season (with a record of 31–6) — a feat accomplished by only eleven players in the 20th century. Roger Alan McDowell is an American former professional baseball right-handed relief pitcher who played in Major League Baseball from 1985 to 1996. He played for the NY Mets, Philadelphia Phillies and LA Dodgers in the National League and the Texas Rangers and Baltimore Orioles of the American League. McDowell was a key component in the 1986 World Series champion New York Mets and was the winning pitcher in the deciding Game 7. His major league record of decisions was seventy wins and seventy losses. McDowell served as the Atlanta Braves pitching coach from 2006 to 2016. Jesse Russell Orosco is a Mexican-American former relief pitcher in Major League Baseball who holds the major league record for career pitching appearances, having pitched in 1,252 games. He pitched most notably for the New York Mets in the 1980s and made the NL All-Star team in 1983 and 1984. Orosco won a World Series in 1986 with the Mets and in 1988 with the Dodgers, and is one of only 31 players in baseball history to date to have appeared in Major League games in four decades. He threw left-handed, but batted right- handed. Orosco retired in 2003 (at 46 years old, one of the oldest players to still be playing in the modern age) after having been with the Mets, Dodgers, Cleveland Indians, Milwaukee Brewers, Baltimore Orioles, St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres, New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins.
