The meeting is open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Michael Orfe is a renowned authority on American History and was invited to speak at the Rutgers Center for Historical Analysis on the Legend of the Jersey Devil. His presentation, entitled "Jersey Devil: Fact or Fiction", is based on historical records, geographical information and personal, plus academic, research. Raised in Southern New Jersey, he developed a life-long fascination with the Pine Barrens and its people. He explored the area intently and met many native "Pineys", several of whom he interviewed to learn about its local legend - the Jersey Devil. Orfe graduated from Montclair State College with a B.A. in US History and English and earned an M.A. in American Studies from Seton Hall University. He spent over 40 years at the high-school level as a teacher, department supervisor and administrator. He was an adjunct Professor at Raritan Valley Community College and Centenary College. The Tewksbury Historical Society is a New Jersey not-for-profit corporation, organized for the purpose of furthering research into, and the preservation and dissemination of, the history of the Township of Tewksbury. The Society requests donations of documents, records and small artifacts related to Tewksbury's History for its archives. Anyone interested in volunteering at Society functions may call: 908.832.6734 or email: tewksburynjhistory@gmail.com. A Round Of Applause, A Standing Ovation and Huge Congratulations!!
