BSA Troop 288 Has Been Busy! The past month has been a busy one for BSA Troop 288! Scouts and adults from the Troop joined forces with many other BSA troops, packs and volunteers, and seven grocery store partners across the county to collect over 10,000 lbs of food and essentials during Hunterdon Arrowhead District's "Scouting for Food" drive. These donations, as well as gift cards worth over $3,500, were delivered to eight local food pantries serving our neighbors. In mid-March, the Troop held their 24th Annual Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser. A dedicated group of Troop leaders, Scouts and parents prepared and served a delicious meal to our friends and families. The Troop is grateful to everyone in our community who came out in the midst of a heavy rainstorm to support our Scouts, and also acknowledges much appreciated support from ShopRite of Clinton, Lebanon Cheese Company and Annandale Reformed Church. A group of Troop 288 Scouts and leaders recently joined forces with AmeriCorps and their NJ Watershed Ambassadors Program, and spent an afternoon armed with pruners and loppers, helping to manage invasive species in Voorhees State Park. Invasive vines which had twined up native trees, threatening to pull them down and choke new growth, were removed along Brookside Trail. BSA Troop 288 meets on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall at Annandale Reformed Church – we welcome new members to join us! For more information on Scouting, visit: www.
