Hi Julie, Very edgy, very cool, Keith Haring-
esque cover!!! Love it! Great way to present a new
year - energy - positivity - power!! I just bought a
little charm for one of my facilitators at WF which
says "Strong is Beautiful". I wish that reminder
for all of us this coming year...
As always, thank you. We, not just WF, but everyone who gets
this magazine, is lucky to have you. – Evelyn
"Art should be something that liberates your
soul, provokes the imagination and encourages
people to go further." – Artist Keith Haring
Dear Evelyn – You are spot-on! I was channeling the eighties with the
January 2024 cover, thinking of both Keith Haring and Stephen Sprouse;
two artists that we lost too soon. I remember Haring's Pop Shop and even
bought several items from there – I wish I had kept them! I earned my BFA
(Bachelor of Fine Arts) from Parsons School of Design in the eighties and I
began my career at the same time, so this is a decade and design style with
which I am very much comfortable. The typography for some of my earliest
projects were created with brush and ink, which felt unique at the time, but
now that I look back on it I realize that it was actually pretty trendy. I am so
glad that you recognize these design styles and thank you for the compliments!
Hunterdon County is lucky to have you and the Women's Forum, too!
Happy Valentine's Day! – Sincerely, Julie
