Named after the national bird of Guatemala, this family-run store honors the country where the owners were born. In 2013, Delia Lopez accomplished her dream of owning a store that offered Hispanic imported products and money transfers to serve the community. With her sense of humor and inviting personality, Delia won over many people, including clients who would spend their days-off at the store laughing and recounting memories from their home countries. El Quetzal became Delia's second home. After falling ill in the hospital, Delia wanted nothing more than to return to the store to say goodbye to her clients, but unfortunately she passed away in March 2020. Her daughter, Roxana, now owns the store and works alongside her family to honor her mom's memory. El Quetzal has expanded to offer money transfers nationally and internationally, connecting even more people with their loved ones. El Quetzal is proud to be at the heart of Clinton serving people from all backgrounds, supplying the ingredients for their favorite Hispanic recipes, and becoming a second home for many more.
