Lewis United Way of Hunterdon County has been supporting our community for more than thirty years to ensure that every individual has the opportunity to thrive. Holiday Hands provides holiday gifts to thousands of Hunterdon County low to moderate income families, elderly residents, and individuals with special needs. To do this, we reach out to these individuals in our community and ask them what they most need and wish for. We then create shopping lists that are available through our website for local purchasing, or via wish lists on Amazon for online shoppers. Generic and store-based gift cards are also accepted, with our more frequent requests coming from retailers such as Walmart, ShopRite, Kohl's, Burlington, and Marshalls (with a preference for $25 denominations). We also accept and encourage donations of new and unwrapped toys and household goods to add to our holiday store. Beginning November 1, you can find links to our clients' wish lists on our website at: www.UWHunterdon.org/holiday-hands. (The deadline to drop off items is Friday, December 1, 2023.) Items can be dropped off at the United Way of Hunterdon County Volunteer Center (20 Fulper Road, Flemington, NJ 08822) from Monday through Friday between 9:00 am to 3:00 pm or by appointment. A monetary donation (www. uwhunterdon.org/donate) allows us to fill the gaps as needed and shop on your behalf. Want to run a drive for Holiday Hands? Visit: www.UWHunterdon.org/holiday- hands and click on thelink at the bottom of the page to learn how to run a drive. If you are running a drive, please let us know! We have plenty of resources for you, and we'd love to increase your campaign's visibility on our social media pages. All purchased items are sent to our Volunteer Center which is transformed into a holiday store where clients can shop and select items for themselves and their family, allowing the dignity of choice! Holiday Hands regularly serves 1,350+ neighbors in need, and we count on the support of donors and volunteers to meet our yearly goals. We hope you will join us in our efforts because we can't build a stronger community alone! Great things happen when we LIVE UNITED! Find out more about UWHC at: www.
