T e w k s b u r y h I s T o r I c A l s o c I e T y h o s T s 3 I s T T e w k s b u r y A r T s h o w A n D s A l e The 31st Tewksbury Art Show and Sale benefiting the Tewksbury Historical Society, chaired by Andy Calamaras, will take place Saturday, October 7 through Saturday, October 14, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Christian Education Center, Oldwick, 08858. The Show includes juried, small works and portfolio works. Media includes oils, acrylics, paper (pastels, watercolors, mixed media collages), hand pulled prints (etching, silk screen, lithographs) and photography (analog and digital).. Subjects include animals, abstracts, landscapes, florals and still-lifes. An Opening Reception will be held Friday evening, October 6, from 6:00 -8:00 pm. Advance tickets are $35 and can be purchased until Tuesday, October 3, 6:00 pm, at www.TewksburyHistory.net; tickets at the door are $40. Awards will be given for "Best in Show," "Best of Tewksbury," "Marion Katnack Award - Tewksbury Landscape", plus first, second, and third place Honorable Mentions in each category. Juror of the Show is Darren McManus, an exhibiting artist, professional designer and an Associate Professor in the Arts & Design Department at Raritan Valley Community College. McManus received his M.F.A. from Cranbrook Academy of Art, his B.F.A from the Hartford Art School and spent his junior year at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. He has earned numerous grants and awards including: an Individual Artist Fellowship Grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts; an Individual Artist Grant from the Puffin Foundation; a Full-Time Faculty Research Grant from Raritan Valley Community College; selection for Creative Capital's Professional Development Program; and a Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation Creative Fellowship. He has been awarded numerous residency fellowships, has been widely exhibited in galleries and museums across the United States and has twice been selected by the Boston based Open Studios Press for inclusion in their publication, New American Paintings. McManus lives in Lambertville NJ, with his wife Lauren, son Lazer and cat Rambo. The Show continues thru Saturday, October 14. Public viewing and sale will take place on Saturday, October 7, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Sunday, October 8, 1:00 p to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, October. 9-13, 12 noon to 5:00 pm and Saturday, October 14, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
