Employers hiring teenagers must register online to receive a unique eight-digit code and share that code with every minor they intend to hire. The teen may then visit the website to create an account and start their working papers application, entering the employer's unique code. Caregivers must review the details of the job and provide proof of the minor's age. The NJ Department of Labor will notify the teen and the business when the application is approved. Our selections are eclectic - new, old, classic. This year for each of the two months, we'll have one luncheon and one virtual session. Zooms work out well in the deepest cold of Winter and in the Summer when it's either too hot to go out or when you're away and like to connect with us from afar. Hope you'll be inspired to "go to the movies" with WF this Summer! Have you ever read a book or seen a movie whose story has stayed with you? Perhaps because the themes or characters resonate? Capture your imagination? Are timeless? One such story is THE ACCIDENTAL TOURIST by Anne Tyler, winner of the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction in 1985 and the Ambassador Book Award for Fiction in 1986. My first acquaintance was with the book, followed by the film several times over. After every viewing I had the same reaction; I would love to talk about this story with my women friends. Take it apart, comment on the characters, discuss the resolution, talk about why a story set in the 1980's is still so relevant today. It's time for that conversation. Thursday July 13 at noon is our July Movie Luncheon where we'll view and discuss the movie The Accidental Tourist - Admission is $20. Register here: http://engagedpatrons.org/ EventsExtended.cfm?SiteID=3205&EventID=497254. For our virtual WF ZOOM event, Thursday July 27 at 11:00 am we'll discuss Lilly In Love, a Maggie Smith and Christopher Plummer delight! It's really his movie as you'll soon see, but Maggie plays straight man to his lunacies to perfection. Expect some great NY in the '80's scenes, '80 style movie music, and expect to laugh! (For those of you who are new to the program, the virtual event works this way: I send out the link for the film with theWF Newsletter (as you'll see below). If you would like to participate please email me to register. View the film at your leisure and on the set day and time we'll meet via Zoom to discuss it. Free admission.) Sign up by responding to this email or by separate email and I will register you and confirm with you. ** The ZOOM MEETING LINK is sent out 15 minutes prior to the session.** If you've signed up and cannot attend, please let me know, right up to the last minute. If you'd like to attend as a "silent participant" (listening in) let me know when you sign up. If you would rather not attend the Zoom, but would like to comment on the film via email, I welcome your perspectives. Hard to believe that we are already halfway through the year! The August WF event dates are: 8/10 Luncheon, 8/24 Virtual Zoom. Don't forget the sunscreen!
