C O M C a s a s h a W s e e K s a d V o C a t e s Every year there are more than 100,000 reports of child abuse or neglect in NJ and more than 10,000 children are removed from their homes because the Court has found it to be too dangerous for them to remain there. Court Appointed Special Advocates of Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties (CASA SHaW) recruit, screen, train and supervise community volunteers to act as advocates in court for children living in foster care. CASA volunteers are appointed by a family court judge to discover the best possible outcome for an abused or neglected child's future as well as make recommendations that support the child's current needs. Volunteers receive support and supervision from a trained social worker throughout the duration of their cases. To find out more, visit: www. CASASHaW.org, call: 908.689.5515, or email: info@casashaw.org. s e n i o r s ' C o r n e r t h e l e b a n o n b o r o u g h s e n i o r s C l u b The Lebanon Borough Seniors Club meets every fourth Wednesday at 10:00 am at the Borough Hall. The Silver Belles and Beaus senior singers is up and running again after a pandemic-inspired hiatus, and we are looking for new members! We're a group of friendly seniors who enjoy singing popular music, Broadway tunes, patriotic songs and old favorites. Conductor for the past twelve years, Michele Collins, and accompanist Craig Hughes, from Annandale Reformed Church, will be heading up a new program for Spring 2023. Rehearsals began in February at the Lower Valley Presbyterian Church Parish Hall, 445 County Road 513 in Califon from 10:am to noon. You can still join us! There are no auditions and you don't need to read music. We are all volunteers and look for ways to share our music with the community by performing for senior groups, nursing homes and schools. For more information, contact Michele Collins at: 908.337.0366 or: michelec14@comcast.net. If you love to sing, come join us!
