There is a varied selection of programs suitable for different ages throughout the year. The programs are free to residents. I am excited to be introducing a Birding for Beginners element to this year's program as well as a night hike. Below is a listing of confirmed programs for the Spring and Summer. Fall and Winter programs are to come. Registration information will be provided on the Clinton Township website, as well as email blasts and social media posts. For more information, please contact me at: aswitlyk@clintontwpnj.org. I look forward to seeing you! Sincerely, Councilwoman Amy Switlyk, Green Team We started 2022 with an ambitious goal of having Clinton Township become Sustainable Jersey certified. Knowing that not many municipalities are able to achieve certification within the first year of their Green Teams being formed, we knew we had a long road ahead. However, due to the hard work of Environmental Commission and Green Team volunteer members, we are officially one of 199 certified municipalities (out of 564 municipalities in New Jersey). Besides signaling to others that our community understands the importance that open space plays within our ecosystem, being Sustainable Jersey certified also opens up opportunities for grants and free technical assistance for future sustainability- related projects. We spent a lot of effort documenting all the great things Clinton Township was already doing, but we also expanded our educational outreach by hosting multiple walks and hikes highlighting different aspects of the flora and fauna found here. And for the first time, we also held a Green Fair and EV Car Show that earned us awards. Stay tuned for even more opportunities to learn and get involved in 2023!
