W o m e n ' s f o r u m : s H a r i n g W i s d o m
Women's Forum is a program founded on the aim of fostering
cultural and intellectual growth in a non-political and non-sectarian
atmosphere of enjoyment and camaraderie. Sources such as feature films
and documentaries, lectures and performances, literature, fine art, history and
pop-culture provide the topic material for viewing and subsequent discussion at
our gatherings. Our motto and mission of Sharing Wisdom endures as Women's
Forum joyfully celebrates its fifth year!
The month of hearts flowers and LOVE is upon us! February's WF
events will be honoring two smart, talented, and powerful women, each of whom
challenged the prevailing "system" and made her mark. Our Valentines for 2023
will be the artists Berthe Morisot and Lena Horne, masters of their realm,
leaving behind a proud legacy! We open at Luncheon on Thursday, February
2, noon, with guest lecturer, expert art historian and WF favorite, Mike
Norris and his presentation on Berthe Morisot. Mike always makes art history
relatable, educational and fun! For the second event of the month, Luncheon on
Thursday, February 16 at noon, we commemorate Black History Month
with a tribute to the super-star fabulous thespian and diva Lena Horne!
Events are held bi-weekly with luncheons at the Clarence Dillon
Library in Bedminster, and also virtually with Zoom discussions,
depending on the availability of virtual material relating to the current topic. A
monthly newsletter keeps the membership informed as to upcoming program
topics. Women's Forum also has a presence on the Dillon Library
website: www.DillonLibrary.org with current information as well as
an archive of past programs.
