Since 1984, the Hunterdon Health Auxiliary has played a vital role in
supporting the mission of Hunterdon Health to advance quality Health in
the community. The Auxiliary welcomes members from various walks of life. What we
have in common is a desire to make a difference and share our time and talents. Most
volunteers say their greatest reward is the sense of personal fulfillment and the sense of
fellowship that comes with exploring new interests and sharing new experiences with
fellow Auxiliary members. With our fundraising, we have succeeded in helping to fund
numerous programs and technological needs within the healthcare system.
Mission Statement: The Hunterdon Health Auxiliary exists for charitable and
educational purposes. Through fundraising and educational events, the Hunterdon
Health Auxiliary promotes the health and welfare of the Hunterdon Health community.
Some of Our Annual Events are:
Sapphires & Sequins: is the Auxiliary's signature event. It is a "Girls' Night Out"
encompassing a VIP experience, shopping, live auction, raffle, fashion show, fine
food and wine. Each year, the beneficiaries will be determined by a vote of Auxiliary
membership, with input on current need from the Hunterdon Health Foundation.
Lunch & Learn: Twice a year, the Auxiliary and the Foundation invite the community
to attend a complimentary meal and informative session. This helps to promote a
connection between community members and the healthcare system, while presenting
the opportunity to become an Auxiliary member.
Lights of Love: This is an event that has been ongoing since 1986, which focuses
on the light within each of us, by acknowledging the light in others. This year-long
event supplies the Auxiliary with discretionary funds, which can be utilized within the
healthcare system as the need arises. Each year on the first Wednesday in December,
Lights of Love celebrates donations made throughout the year that honor or memorialize
people who have touched our lives in a special way.
Cookie Sale: Held on the second Wednesday in December, Auxiliary and community
members bake holiday-themed cookies to be sold, with proceeds benefiting Briteside
Adult Day Center.
There are many roles for Auxiliary volunteers including support of events, administration,
and community outreach. Find out more at: www.hunterdonhealth.org/
