It is given to a seventh-grade student at the Old Turnpike School, Tewksbury, in recognition of his curiosity, passion, strong interest in and dedication to studying New Jersey and local history. The award will be given annually to a student selected by the social studies teachers who most exemplifies the criteria established. The award consists of a monetary check and a small gift. David's name will be engraved on two Plagues, one displayed at the school and one at the Tewksbury Historical Society's Carriage House on James St.. The award is given in memory of Elsie Ehmann, a longtime resident and avid volunteer in Tewksbury, who passed away in 2021. She was a Charter Member of the Society and served as its Treasurer for twenty-five years. Elsie believed that the Historical Society is for the benefit of Tewksbury residents. An award to a local student would strengthen and continue the connection between the Society and the Township, encouraging learning by both. Find out more at: www.TewksburyHistory.net. Melissa Ehmann, Elsie's daughter, David Manning, Joan Umholtz, THS VP, David Berg, Tewksbury History Teacher "I thought of all the summer evenings I'd spent siing in the chairs under the trees beside the trailer, reading books that helped me escape Creek View, at least for a lile while. Magical kingdoms, Russian love triangles, and the March sisters couldn't have been further away from the trailer park." - Author: Heather Demetrios g I R l s C O U T s E R V I C E U N I T 8 1 I s l O O k I N g F O R l E A D E R s Girl Scout Service Unit 81 participated in the annual Fourth of July parade in Lebanon Borough!
