The Friends of Hunterdon County Library (FOHCL) are holding their annual used Book Sale on Saturday April 22 through April 24. This year marks the 24th Annual Book Sale sponsored by volunteers of FOHCL who have organized this major fundraiser for the purpose of supporting and enhancing the Hunterdon County Library System. What does FOHCL do? Financial support is given for programs such as Maker's Day, various lecture series, Fred Miller and summer outdoor concerts and book kits for lending to community book clubs. Funding has also been increased for the Library's e-book offerings as well as scholarships for students entering college. The book sale is an all-volunteer effort, organized by FOCH members. Book donations are needed to supply the sale. DROP OFF DRIVES are scheduled at the Hunterdon County Fair Grounds in Ringoes on Saturdays April 9 and 16 from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. Books may also be dropped off at the North Branch Library from Tuesday April 5 through Thursday April 7 during open hours. Drop offs are limited to three bags or boxes. Want to get involved? FOHCL needs you! There are numerous volunteer opportunities, from setting up tables to sorting books and categorizing tables in the weeks preceding the sale, and cashiering, organizing tables, greeters and directing parking during the sale. Volunteers may select a schedule that will work best for them -sign up for a few hours, a few days, or every day! Help is needed from Tuesday April 5 through Tuesday, April 26. Volunteer opportunities are available for both sites: Ringoes at the Fair Grounds and North Branch Library in Clinton. Students are welcome to participate if 13+ years old and service credit will be given. FOCHL looks forward to seeing you as a volunteer, a book donator, sale shopper or all! Effective January 1, Victor A. Rotolo and Anthony P. Kearns, III combined practices to form Kearns Rotolo Law. "Anthony is an accomplished, state-recognized attorney with 24 years' experience," said Victor. "For eight of those years, he served as Hunterdon County's Prosecutor and is the only attorney to date to have been appointed to that role for two terms. I am honored to be working with him and look forward to continuing to provide all of our clients with the level of legal services they're accustomed to receiving from our firms." "I am excited with the prospects for this new venture," Anthony said. "Victor's commitment to serving his clients' legal needs with the highest degree of integrity is something I share and value. His 40 years of experience are invaluable. By joining our practices, we are now in a position to offer practical solutions to complex legal matters to an even broader range of clients." Victor and Anthony are now part of a seven-member firm licensed to practice in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, as well as before various federal and State courts. They will continue to focus on litigation, family law, criminal defense, and personal injury law. "We often see clients in their most troubling times—when they've been injured and out of work; when they're dealing with the emotional stress of divorce; when they're facing charges that could drastically impact their future," said Victor, "and I want to assure them they will continue to receive the same strong legal counsel and compassionate advice they have come to expect from us." "We remain devoted to providing excellent personal service," added Anthony, "and we will show that by continuing to respond to all inquiries in a timely manner, delivering well thought out, reasonable solutions to our clients' legal issues, and keeping them informed of our progress throughout their cases." Our purpose is the preservation and promotion of the Quilting Arts by educating members through lectures, demonstrations, workshops and other appropriate means, stimulating a renewed interest in quilting, encouraging original design, and bringing these benefits to the general public in the form of exhibits and demonstrations. Over the years, hundreds of pillowcases have been donated to local children's hospitals and cancer centers. Other projects have included making quilts for Project Linus, placemats for Meals on Wheels, bibs/vest, wheelchair bags and walker pockets for the veterans at Lyons Hospital. The guild has also distributed hundreds of quilts to various care centers and nursing homes as well as to combat veterans through the Quilts of Valor Foundation. Additionally, the first baby born of each new year are given quilts at RWJ Somerset Medical Center and the Hunterdon Medical Center. This dynamic group has served the community by making well over two thousand donations of masks and nurses caps to the Hunterdon Medical Center and Meals on Wheels during the pandemic as well as first responders. Due to COVID-19 concerns, our February 18 Guild meeting will be virtual for members only. We eagerly look forward to getting back to normal when we can again meet in person and open our doors to guests. We would love to welcome new members at our zoom meetings, workshops, and lectures! Check out our website at: https://hcquiltingguild. wixsite.com/hcquiltingguild for our schedule of meetings and events and consider joining our guild! Or email us at: hunterdoncountyquiltingguild@ gmail.com with any questions you might have. We look forward to hearing from anyone interested in becoming a member!
