Reinvention has been the name of the game navigating the food industry in current times. The Clean Plate Kitchen has decided to close after eight years of operation in the Town of Clinton. Although the riverside patio dining will be missed, Anthony and Nicole Piazza are continuing to explore alternatives in creating a new way to bring fresh, clean, healthy meals to our community. Throughout the pandemic, Anthony and Nicole have been donating meals to our local community (and continue to do so), through this mission the offering of heat & eat meals was born. Finding that prepared meals allows for creativity, changing the menu regularly, using different cooking methods, and a more predictable way of operating a business, Feel Good Food at Home was created through this adaptation and has been in operation since May of 2020. As the restaurant doors are now closed for in-person dining, they have found a new home in the Town of Clinton and are excited about this latest evolution for the Piazzas. In this transition, it seemed time for a new name, look, and branding for this next chapter. Nourish to Heal had been Nicole's nutrition practice prior to opening The Clean Plate Kitchen. Rebranding feels like a full circle and returning to the parts of the business that Anthony and Nicole love and re-emerging as something completely new. Nourish to Heal will offer prepared meals delivered to your home or available for pickup, additionally cooking classes and pop-up events will be coming soon. The new location for Nourish To Heal is at 10 Leigh Street in Clinton, and their menu and ordering can be found at: www.NourishToHeal.com. Look for more developments as this next phase continues to evolve and thank you for continuing to support this great local business! C l i n t O n t O W n s H i p g i r l s C O u t m a n d i g r e e n H a l g H e a r n s g O l d a W a r d Mandi Greenhalgh has earned a Girl Scout Gold Award for creating free libraries at Bulls Island and Round Valley State Parks. Her goal was to offer books as a means of welcoming visitors from neighboring communities and to also encourage reading and literacy. "Since I love to read, I knew that this was the perfect project for me," said Mandi, who is currently a senior at North Hunterdon High School. "It seemed like a great way to share my interest while encouraging a sense of community." The libraries feature books in both English and Spanish for different age groups. Greenhalgh partnered with Patricia Kallesser and Leigh Germann from the NJ State Parks Department for project approval and logistics. She built the libraries a n d i n c l u d e d b o o k s r e l a t e d t o n a t u r e and conservation. "Some of the titles are educational to encourage people to respect our parks so that they are available to everyone for years to come," she said. Mandi received books from a variety of sources including the North County Branch Library and Open Cupboard Food pantry in Clinton. She also had a great response from neighbors by posting on Nextdoor. She promoted her project within her Girl Scout service unit to let other scouts know they can collect books for the park libraries as a service project. In addition to support from the p a r k s d e p a r t m e n t , G r e e n h a l g h says she was mentored by Clinton Township resident Jeff Smith as well as her uncle, Bob Castleton. They taught her valuable skills that will last a lifetime. Mandi is also grateful for the encouragement she received from her own Troop 80081. The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award a Girl Scout can achieve. It allows girls to demonstrate leadership, organization, and dedication to improving their community.
