A Jewish youth group known as CTeen (Chabad Teen Network), is helping the community become healthier and more beautiful, one good deed at a time. On July 19, CTeen members volunteered to help clean the Flemington Food Pantry. Teens clipped bushes, picked up garbage, and pulled weeds to help beautify the outside of the building. "It is important for youth to understand the spiritual and physical importance of giving back to the community." says Rabbi Avraham Posner, director of CTeen of Hunterdon County, "Once they see the positive effect that their actions have on the people that they are helping, they truly understand why it is so important that they participate". On July 28, CTeen members spent their evening harvesting corn at Grow-A-Row, an organization dedicated to providing fresh food for those in need. "It feels great to know that I can make an impact on people's lives," says Hannah Iannace, one of the CTeen members participating in the corn picking. "There were so many other people helping pick corn, and so many workers that cared a lot about the cause. It's inspiring to know that you are a part of something bigger than yourself." The CTeen of Hunterdon county youth group is having a kickoff event on September 12 to welcome new members and introduce the programming for the year ahead. The activities director at the Hunterdon Care Center will be at the event to help CTeen members make and personalize scarves for the care center's seniors. All high school students are welcome to attend and join this youth group! More information can be found on: www. JewishHunterdon.com/CTeen or: CTeen@jewishhunterdon.com or by calling: 908.238.9002.
