The pandemic has impacted everyone, from local small businesses and neighbors to the Hunterdon County Library, whose Annual Book Sale, the largest fundraiser, was cancelled in both 2020 and 2021. This challenged the FOHCL to think outside the box as we look towards our next fundraiser, the 2021 Tricky Tray, that will support the library's programs, including audio- and e-books, which were unprecedented in popularity throughout the pandemic Historically, local businesses donated gift card prizes to past Tricky Trays. Given the ongoing economic challenges, requesting gift card donations from these businesses does not seem prudent. Instead, the FOHCL are asking for monetary donations from the community and friends of the library, with every dollar raised used to purchase gift cards from businesses that will then be offered as prizes in the 2021 Tricky Tray. In this way, the Library aims to 'Return the Support' to our business neighbors, as a thank you for their past support of the annual Tricky Tray. The 2020 Return the Support campaign raised over $2000, which was used to purchase gift cards from over forty Hunterdon County businesses. Those gift cards, along with other donated items, were offered as prizes in our 2020 Tricky Tray fundraiser, which raised over $6000 to support the library's programs. The feedback received in 2020 was very positive from both supporters and local businesses, and we hope for a similar success in 2021. Please consider donating in 2021 and Returning the Support! By contributing to this fund drive, you will be giving directly to our local businesses and also supporting the Friends of the Hunterdon County Library. Donate directly at GoFundMe Return the Support 2021, or mail a check payable to FOHCL to Friends of the Hunterdon County Library, 314 Route 12, Bldg. 3, Flemington, NJ 08822. FOHCL is a registered 501c3 organization. For additional information, call: 908-788-1444, email: library@hclibrary. us, or visit us online at: www.HCLibrary.us/friends.htm. Thank you for your consideration. t H e v i n t A G e S H O p p e – A n t i Q u i n G i S R e C y C l i n G !
