CLINTON TOWNSHIP MUNICIPAL NEWS www.township.clinton.nj.us/ Special Elections Residents should be aware there will be two special elections held to replace Senator Frank Lautenberg, who passed away quite recently. The primary will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2013 and the U.S. Senate General Election will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2013. Polling locations and voting hours will remain the same, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on these dates. Questions can be directed to the Township Clerk at 735-8800 x 204 or to the Election Board at 788-1192. SIGNS , SIGNS , E V ERY W HERE ARE SIGNS ! It's summer, the time when garage sales abound, festivals and carnivals are held, and special events are plentiful. In advertising these events, residents and businesses should know the Township adopted a sign ordinance in May of 2008, which restricts many types of signs and their uses. • Election signs – may be placed at any time before an election and must be removed within seven calendar days following the election to which it pertains. One election sign may be placed on each parcel, and shall not exceed four square feet if located in a residential district. A brief description of some of the restrictions follows. Please call the Township Offices at 735.8800, ext 298, before placing your signs. BI - ANNUAL DOG CENSUS The State requires all municipalities in New Jersey to perform a bi-annual dog census. Residents can expect a short letter in the mail asking if you own a dog and, if so, requesting that you license it, or let us know if you no longer own your dog.
