The weather is fi nally starting to warm
up and summer is seemingly around the
corner. With the warmer weather comes
the anticipation of proms, graduations and
summer barbecues and gatherings. The
Clinton Township Police would like to remind
everyone to celebrate safely and keep a few
important prevention measures in mind when
planning these events.
1. CONSEQUENCES FOR PARENTS WHO ALLOW UNDERAGE
DRINKING:
Parents who give alcohol to their teen's friends under any
circumstances, even in their own homes, could be breaking the law.
(NJSA 2C:33-17).
• You cannot knowingly allow a person under 21, other than your
own child, to remain in your home or on your property while
consuming or possessing alcohol.
• Others can sue you if you give alcohol to anyone under 21, and they
in turn, hurt someone, hurt themselves, or damage property.
• You can be charged and prosecuted for unlawfully providing or
making available alcohol to a person under age 21.
2. In addition to alcohol, please be aware of any prescription or over the
counter drugs, which may be accessible to minors (or anyone) in your home.
Please lock up your medications!
3. Lock up and secure any fi rearms.
4. Do not allow unsupervised parties at your home. We said it, be the
uncool, unhip parents and make sure you are present and paying
attention when there is a party on your property… you will ultimately be
responsible!

A Message From
the Clinton Township
Police Dept.
Julie, Hi and hope this fi nds you well.
I just wanted to comment, as I was reviewing
your Newlsletters looking for a past article,
how much I love the covers you have created.
They are truly a feast for the eyes and take
the Newsletter to a new level of wonderful!
The bouquet on last month's issue made me
go search for peonies-which of course you
can't fi nd now-and create a very overfl owed
and sumptuous bouquet to try to look like it!
Didn't come close!
Thank you for all your great articles and for all the help
to those of us involved with non-profi ts who need to advertise. Having the news
arrive in such a beautiful package makes it even more exciting!
Kudos to you & All the Best, Lynn Arnold
Dear Lynn,
Thank you so much for your kind words! I really enjoy designing the covers
and I'm so glad that you appreciate them! And I'm happy to be able to help all
of the local non-profi ts – that's the most rewarding part of the job! ♥ Julie
