World Thinking Day, a Girl Scout day of international recognition, was held on February 22. It was founded in 1926 to celebrate Girl Scouts globally as well as the organization that unites us. In Hunterdon County, Service Unit 81 holds a formal event every other year to mark the occasion. Individual troops select a country to represent and create an exhibit offering traditional food, crafts and games for all of the Scouts in attendance to experience. This year, Service Unit 81 held World Thinking Day virtually for the first time. Troops selected their countries and submitted a Google slide to showcase what they learned. Thirteen troops represented countries like Germany, Greece and Scotland, and offered links to recipes, instructions for playing local games, and details about what it's like to be a Girl Scout there. All troops were given "passports" to print and complete as they "traveled" across the globe. The girls did an excellent job showcasing the flavors and cultures of different countries! This year's Girl Scout cookie season is officially underway! As with all Girl Scout activities, safety is the top priority during this sale. You may see fewer Scouts going door to door in our neighborhoods and likely fewer booths in front of businesses, but there are other ways to purchase. If you know a Girl Scout, you can request a link to her Digital Cookie page, which is an online order form. If you do not know a Scout and would like to buy cookies, please reach out to us via email at: gshnjserviceunit81@gmail.com and we can help! 800.452.9105 • 908.638.9339 www.AandLPoolService.com 1 VAN SYCKLE ST, HIGH BRIDGE, NJ 08829 SERVING HUNTERDON, WARREN, MORRIS, SOMERSET AND MERCER COUNTIES FOUNDED 1967 • LIC.#13VH02098100 ALL In-Ground Pools Pool Openings Pool Closings Maintenance Swimming Pool Inspections Filter Repair/ Replacement Heater Repair/ Replacement Pump Repair/ Replacement Computerized Automation Pump/Acid Wash Safety Covers Renovations Vacuum Service Leak Detection Services Pressure Testing Pool Cleaners Pool Chemicals Salt Generators SPA Covers SERVICES: "Luck is great, but most of life is hard work" ~ Iain Duncan Smith
