When you think of summer programs for your children, what do you think of? Do think of all those unforgettable memories from when you were a child and went to summer camps with your friends? Do think of how you would wait all year to go and then once it was over you would start counting the days until the next summer when you could go back? Let me introduce myself. My name is Raven Tunnermann-Gyecsek and I am the founder and Director of Raven Rock Summer Programs LLC. I have run the summer programs hosted at the Red Mill Museum Village since 2018. At the ripe young age of 13 (the age of some of my counselors in training now) I knew that I wanted to own and run summer programs. Since then, every day, I have worked towards that goal and now that I have it, it is like being that giddy child on their way to their favorite summer program… except I get to experience it all year long! When I think of summer I think of fun, friendships and laughter. As a director I see smiles, I hear little voices exclaiming how much fun they had, and I personally get to see those unforgettable summer memories being made every day. As a director, my goal will always be to give children unforgettable summers filled with unique programs, joy, laughter, adventure, and memories and friendships that will be cherished. At Raven Rock Summer Programs and the Red Mill Museum Village we offer two very unique programs every summer: Our nature program combines team building with all the adventures that an aspiring environmentalist could possibly imagine. From exploring the riverbank, to hands on interactive workshops such as engineering, live reptile shows, or even spotting wildlife on the property, there is always a new adventure around every corner. The children even get to go kayaking on the South branch river right off the Red Mill property! If your child loves adventure, enjoys hands on learning and having lots of fun, then this might be just the place for them! Our history program brings the pages of your children's history books alive! They will learn about history in a way they never have before, as they time travel and become part of it. With the help of reenactors, our historical facility, and many fun activities, your children will be traveling daily into the colonial era and where they will even join the Revolutionary militia. They'll actually enjoy putting those electronics down and learn how people lived before them!
