Fungus toenails affects millions of people every day. It can cause your toenails to become discolored, crumbly and flaking. If fungus toenails are not treated correctly they can develop into extremely painful thickened ugly toenails which make it very difficult to cut or trim. Millions of older Americans go to Podiatrists every 2 months to have their fungus toenails cut and smoothed down. When your fungus toenails become this severe it is virtually impossible to treat them or cure them. If your toenails look discolored or thickened does not necessarily mean you have fungal nails. There are many other treatable nail disorders that can mimic a fungal infection. Visual confirmation is no longer reliable. It is recommended once you see a change in your toenails you should go see a podiatrist right away. There is a new testing method for fungal toenails. Your podiatrist will cut small piece of nail without any pain or discomfort and send it to the proper lab. Bako Diagnostics has created this new method in identifying fungus. It is called a genetic molecular test. It can identify the genus and species of a particular fungus, yeast, mold, or spore. This method is 99% accurate. It can also diagnose what you have when you don't have a fungus. When the results come back to your podiatrist he will go over them with you completely and discuss all options for treatment for your nails. If treated early you can get a complete clearing of your nails. Treatment options range from doctor dispensed topicals to prescription oral medications. The pathology report will indicate which would be best for you. If you have any foot problems, issues and questions, please contact Howard J. Plastic flamingos were decorated with flower, seasonal, sport, and entertaining themes. The project is known as "flocking". A flock of flamingos is placed on the front lawn of the home of the one to be "flocked". The following day, the flamingos "fly" to another lawn. When a home is "flocked", the opportunity to "flock" someone else's home is made available by donating money which is given to the Open Cupboard Food Pantry of Clinton. The project began in April and is still going strong, thanks to the many who have chosen to "flock" neighbors, friends and family. Donations have thus far totaled in the thousands. If you are interested in supporting the Open Cupboard Food Pantry of Clinton by "flocking" someone, contact Michele, President of The Country Garden Club, at: 908.200.3700.
