Adventure: Summer camp is all about a wide variety of fun adventures and new experiences–especially exploring the outdoors. 2. Healthy Fun: Day camps offer fun, stimulating activities that engage the body and mind, and also help children and teens learn the importance of nutrition to help improve their eating habits. 3. Personal Growth: Youth get a chance to learn new skills, and develop confidence and independence by taking on new responsibilities and challenges. 4. New Friendships: Amidst the fun of camp games, songs, swimming, canoeing and talent shows, campers meet new friends and strengthen existing friendships. 5. Memories: Summer camp is an unforgettable experience that will give each camper memories (and campfire stories) that will last a lifetime! The HCYMCA provides exciting and educational camp programming for children and teens, including traditional day camp at Camp Carr in Clinton Township, Sports Camp at the Deer Path Branch in Flemington, and South Camp at South Hunterdon High School. Other camp programs include: Horseback Riding Camp, Travel Camp, Environmental Adventure Camp, Mad Science Camp, Lego Camp, and sports specialty camps including basketball, baseball, dance, cheerleading, tennis, golf, flag football, bowling, soccer, field hockey and lacrosse. This fun and instructive basketball program is run by the North Hunterdon High School boys head coach, Kyle Rehrig, and his coaching staff along with the assistance of the varsity players. It is open to all players in the North Hunterdon High School sending districts: Clinton Township, Town of Clinton, Lebanon, Bethlehem, Union, Franklin. The camp schedule is as follows: • July 22 through 25 • Time: 8:00 am to 1:00 pm • Location: North Hunterdon High School Main Gym • Price: $150/person • Open to boys entering grades 6 - 9 (2013/2014 school year) • Includes camp T-shirt and prizes • Registration form and payment submittal instructions are available online at: www.nhlbc.net. Invasive Plant Pull–a Volunteer Opportunity Saturday, June 1, 8:30 amto 12:30 pm, Hoffman Park Ages 12 through adult (children must be accompanied by an adult) This spring we'll continue to combat the invasive plant, water chestnut, at Hoffman Park. We will use canoes to hand pull this plant from our ponds. Volunteers should bring rubber gloves and waders, if they have them, (please do not purchase them for this event). Individuals and groups that would like to receive more information should contact the Park office at 908.782.1158. Come help with this important effort! A light breakfast and full lunch will be provided. Registration for these programs is required and is first -come, first-served.
