3 a u g u s t 2 0 2 0 I'm going to keep my column short and sweet this month, because my brain is currently in summer vacation mode. I just spent the last several weeks moving the office, and traveling to the Outer Banks of North Carolina with my family, two nephews and a family friend. As soon as we returned we hosted three of my youngest son's college friends for a week – all while trying to be safe and careful during this pandemic. We rarely went anywhere in public, and my kids introduced the friends to our local reservoirs, hiking trails and tennis courts. Thank goodness we live in such a beautiful place, with lots of activities that don't involve crowds or close quarters. Not a bad place to be during a crazy time like this. The quote on the cover sums up my feeling right now. It's been a very stressful year so far. There is very little of it that I can control, but I think, I hope, that everything will happen as it should and we'll have better days ahead. In the meantime, I'm going to make sure to enjoy the rest of my summer, and I hope you and your families do too!
