No matter what your background or interests, Meals on Wheels in Hunterdon has a volunteer opportunity that's just right for you. Most people want to become Volunteer Drivers delivering meals to their homebound neighbors throughout the county. Site Volunteers help part-time staff package meals and assist drivers as they prepare for their routes. We are presently in need of VOLUNTEER DRIVERS for HUNTERDON COUNTY One Day A MONTH for Two Hours. Meals on Wheels is a private, not-for-profit service agency. As such, it is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors. Board members attend meetings and serve on committees to address staff, fundraising and budgetary issues. Volunteer opportunities abound, technical, social, financial, even 'life experience' contributions are needed. Your involvement – from a single project to an ongoing commitment – can really make a difference! Says, Tom G., a local resident, "If the young people who volunteer for Hunterdon Save Our Seniors are typical of this generation, we are all indeed fortunate! Because of the epidemic, I was advised not to expose myself because of age and a medical condition. I called SOS and they made it easy to connect with a volunteer to do my food shopping. The volunteer was kind and gracious and very accomodating. Three cheers for Hunterdon SOS!" If you would like to volunteer to help SOS, or if you or someone you know needs this volunteer service, please call: 908.437.8039 or email: soshunterdoncounty@gmail.com.
