C O M C L I N T O N T O W N S H I P S C H O O L N E W S www.ctsdnj.org I hope you are all well and are finding time to enjoy the summer. Some things are constants in our society. "SEPTEMBER," the start of school, it happens every year. This year the First Day of School may look different, but it is still time for new renewal – a "fresh start." We are focused upon planning for our children, faculty/staff and the community. The Administrative Team and faculty/staff are working diligently to plan for the opening of the Clinton Township School District's 2020 – 2021 school year. The past year has confirmed the need to be prepared for anything and everything. Our educational community is ready. Please monitor our district website for all updated information: http://ctsdnj.org/home. Thank you for the opportunity to serve the children, faculty/staff and the community – let us all begin. Sincerely, Johanna S. Ruberto, Ed.D. Interim Superintendent A L e t t e r f r o m Johanna S. Ruberto, Ed.D., Interim Superintendent of Schools Dear Clinton Township Community Members: I N O U R S C H O O L S : Clinton Township School District Mission Statement: The Clinton Township School District, in partnership with the community, achieves excellence for each child by ensuring a meaningful and challenging educational experience in a supportive environment; developing life-long learners who are responsible and productive citizens. Round Valley School RVS Congratulates our Retiring Staff Christopher Cosgrave! Mr. Cosgrave is a legend in our school district. Starting his career at SRS in 1991, Mr. Cosgrave instantly gained a reputation as a teacher who was fully invested in his students' education and his hard work to educate "the whole child", long before that practice was common. He made it his goal each year to find the "best" in every child and use that knowledge to make each student feel like a star. Mr. Cosgrave made learning fun by introducing silly characters and lessons. He regularly made pancakes for his students, had musical math, American Idol, The Skip Halliday talk show and so many more fun activities. His Halloween costumes were phenomenal! These learning experiences and his full investment in making learning fun proved highly memorable to students. Mr. Cosgrave's favorite time of day was reading aloud to students. Walking into his room during read alouds demonstrated his passion for this and the love for books he helped instill in students, as they listened attentively. His connection to the students and families stood out. Many times students in their twenties would stop by to say "hello" or to be a guest judge for American Idol. He has attended weddings of former students, gone to dinners, held their babies. Additionally, Mr. Cosgrave demonstrated support and caring for colleagues old and new. He is irreplaceable and will be terribly missed. We wish Mr. Cosgrave the absolute best for his future endeavors! Patrick McGaheran School This certainly has been an unprecedented end to our school year without our usual fanfare to celebrate a year of great learning and the anticipation of the exciting summer months. Although we cannot celebrate in person right now, we are celebrating virtually! I hope that the summer ahead holds health, family time and relaxation for your families. Hopefully you can find time to read some good books as well! Please see PMG website for information regarding our summer reading program at PMG. Stay healthy and safe –we can't wait to see our PMG families again soon! Spruce Run School The 19-20 school year ended on an unusual note with our preschoolers, teachers, staff and families saying farewell virtually. We applaud our youngest learners for finishing out the year strong, filled with energy for the summer. To our preschool graduates, we wish you success and exploration as you move up to Kindergarten. W e l e a r n e d f r o m y o u a n d watched you grow with curiosity and creativity. For the summer, we hope you find a ways to stay energized, rest, and continue to explore the world around you in a safe and healthy way. It's a great time to dig into new books, paint with water on the sidewalk, and draw an obstacle course with chalk on your driveway. We wish you well and look forward to seeing our SRS friends and families again in the fall!
