This group is open to all in the LGBTQ community – and we are seeking volunteers, advocates and supporters! Would you like to donate to our upcoming tricky tray? The mission of our organization is to promote acceptance, inclusion, and understanding of those in the LGBTQ community, as well as to educate and support those who identify themselves as LGBTQ. We do this through the monthly meetings that are open to all with guest speakers, educational literature, movie, board game and video game nights and attending conventions. Allies— people who are not LGBTQ themselves—have done an enormous amount to advance the cause of LGBTQ equality. An ally can show support for LGBTQ friends, co-workers, classmates, neighbors, co-congregants, family members and others in a wide variety of ways. A donation of any size is very much appreciated. Thank you for your consideration this matter. Meet other LGBTQ members! We will be talking about outings, speakers and upcoming events like our Tricky Tray and other fundraisers. The outings and memberships are free. We have game nights and movie nights. Questions? You can continue to work on building your emotional wellness by practicing mindfulness – the concept of staying thoughtfully in the present moment. We tend to have strong emotions about past events or worrisome futures, so staying mindfully in the present can help us feel grounded. While you're practicing being in the present moment, you can allow yourself to feel the emotions as they come while choosing to not feel consumed by them. Try not to let your immediate emotion guide your action, rather, take a step back and stay mindfully in control. This column will have more on emotional wellness next month – and may you have a Healthy and Happy New Year! Become a Friend of The Clinton Guild! Do you LOVE Downtown Clinton and want to help? The Guild of Clinton, a not-for-profit group, promotes the shopping, dining, services and culture of historic downtown Clinton and all it has to offer to residents and visitors. Call: 908.735.4020 and say, "I want to help the Guild!" www.VisitClintonNJ.com "New beginnings are oen disguised as painful endings." ~ Lao Tzu
