C L I N T O N T W P N E W S L E T T E R . c o m While our students were away enjoying summer camps, swimming, and spending time with family and friends, the Clinton Township School District has been busy preparing for the new school year! Facilities projects at both the Round Valley and Patrick McGaheran Schools have taken place. Round Valley flooring projects in Grade 3 replacing carpet with tile are complete. The tile floor in the art room has also been replaced. Patrick McGaheran School has had both restroom renovation and additions take place as well as HVAC installation. District security upgrades have also been completed. T e a c h e r s w i l l b e r e t u r n i n g o n August 27 and August 28 for professional development, classroom preparation and collaborative conversations with colleagues. On August 29 the district schools will welcome families for a Visitation Day, allowing families to come and see their children's classrooms and school buildings. Mashcio's Food Service will also be on hand to introduce new food selections and discuss with parents how they may be of assistance with their child's dietary needs. We are excited to welcome back our staff, students and families and we look forward to a great school year! The custodial and maintenance staff have worked hard to make our building shine, our secretaries have unpacked and organized supplies and our teachers are arranging classrooms and preparing lessons and Mrs. Goad has been getting everything ready. Now we just need our students! We can't wait to welcome our students on September 3, 2019! Merriam Webster defines togetherness as "a state or feeling of closeness and happiness among people who are together as friends, family members, etc". Our youngest learners bring about many opportunities to teach about togetherness, create community, and nurture community. Here at Spruce Run School, our teachers, teaching assistants, related service providers and support staff are dedicated to making each day of a preschooler's school year special. We will mark the start of the year with a Together Celebration for our 3, 4, and 5 year olds to join in their school community and develop a sense o f c l o s e n e s s a n d support they can count on. We look forward to sharing o u r h i g h l i g h t s t h r o u g h o u t t h e y e a r a n d w i s h e v e r y o n e a w o n d e r f u l start to the year!
