The Hunterdon County YMCA Child Learning Center in Clinton Township provides child care and education programs for infants, ages 6 weeks and over, through Pre-K. A new preschool classroom is currently under construction and will be open in September, providing the opportunity for more children to attend the school. "We are excited about our expanded space. We are proud of our programs and welcome the opportunity to share our commitment to high standards with more families in Hunterdon County," said Michael Reisman, Director of Early Childhood Education. "It also allows us the flexibility to partner with local school districts in NJ Pre-K expansion when the time comes." The Hunterdon County YMCA Child Learning Center has been providing quality programs to the community for 20 years, offering well- planned, learning rich experiences for young children in a supportive and nurturing environment. Children are given the opportunity to grow socially, physically, intellectually and emotionally through a stimulating play-based approach to learning. Our nationally recognized Creative Curriculum supports the New Jersey Department of Education Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards in preparing children for future school experiences and academic learning. In 2018, the Child Learning Center received a 3-star rating for their successful completion of the rigorous, research-based Grow NJ Kids quality rating program, demonstrating its commitment to quality and on-going improvement. Grow NJ Kids is New Jersey's Quality Rating and Improvement System. It offers child care and early learning programs access to training, professional development, staff scholarships for continuing education and targeted technical assistance. Professional raters visit the program to review quality standards and then program participants receive ratings by meeting an extensive list of quality benchmarks.
