Let the empty paint can dry with the lid off before disposal. • For larger quantities, you can mix latex paint with kitty litter and put in the regular trash. • Oil based paint is considered hazardous material and should be treated as such. Contact your local municipality for their regulations about disposing of oil based paint. Many municipalities have "hazardous waste" days for collection of such materials. Several times per year Hunterdon County holds a Household Hazardous Waste Clean Up event at the County Complex on Route 12 in Flemington. The rain date is Sunday, September 1, subject to field conditions. THS will accept items for the sale at the Oldwick Carriage House, 5 James St. in Oldwick, only on two Saturdays, August 3 and 10, 9 AM to 12 Noon, rain or shine. Items will not be accepted at the field. No furniture, books, records, electronics older than 2 years, children's items/toys or clothing will be accepted. Society members will receive small, clean items in working and usable condition (china, dishes, baskets, linens, antiques, garden items, etc.) All contributions are tax-deductible as the law allows. The Flea Market features 114 vendors selling a variety of wares including antiques, vintage items, fresh baked goods, etc. Breakfast and lunch will be available during the day. An entrance fee is not charged. However, THS requests a suggested donation of $2 or more per car upon departure. Those wishing to "shop" early may do so beginning at 7:00 am, paying a $10 fee. Proceeds from the event help support the Society's on-going programs and go toward the maintenance of its buildings. Vendor spaces are limited and are available at $45 if postmarked before 8/1; $55 thereafter. All movies are free and open to the community. Each movie will begin at sunset. Predicted start times are as follows: July 26 (9:00 pm), August 9 (8:30 pm), August 23 (8:30 pm), September 6 (7:45 pm). Seating will be on the lawn – please bring lawn chairs and/or blankets. Restrooms in the school will be accessible. Concessions will not be sold so please bring snacks and drinks (non-alcoholic). All children must be accompanied by parents – no drop off.
