Members of the two latest classes for the North Hunterdon High School Athletic Hall of Fame have been selected. The list for 2018 and 2019 includes eleven athletes stretching back to the 1960's, two coaches, two teams and three contributors to the school athletic program. The hall inducted its first class in 2002. The induction luncheon ceremony will start on Saturday, October 12 at 11:00 am at Beaver Brook Country Club, 25 Country Club Drive, Clinton Township. Tickets are available at $50 a piece by contacting Mike Van Doren at mvandoren@vandorenoil.com or through the school athletic department. The Class of 2018: As athletes: n George Zack, Class of 1960, a two-way tackle on County-winning football teams and a district place winner in wrestling. n George Wilbur, Class of 1963, a power-hitting outfielder and a tight end and PAT kicker on football teams n Ali Freedman, Class of 2007, first undefeated softball pitcher and 20- game winner. She led the State-Champion team in 2006. n Jason Knapp, Class of 2008, a First-Team All-State Pitcher and Star Ledger Pitcher of the Year as a senior (baseball). n Debora Bowden, Class of 1992, a champion-level diver for four years and winner of the State Competition as a senior. n Patrick Dolan, Class of1993, first-team all-state on 1992 State- Champion cross country team and State Champ in 1600 and 3200 in winter track. As a team: The 1989-90 Girls' State Champion winter track shuttle hurdles relay team of Andza Wegrzynowicz, Robyn Pangi, Nicole Brown and Kara Spencer. As a coach: Harold "Skip" Norcross, coach of girls' track teams, including 1982 State Champions, and assistant in basketball, cross country and soccer programs. As a contributor: William Hauck, Class of 1982, home football announcer, basketball statistician for boys and girls teams and Hall of Fame Committee Treasurer. The Class of 2019: As athletes: n Christopher Dolan, Class of 1996, a key runner on three state championship cross-country teams. n Jenna Gonzalez, Class of 2008, a pitcher on the state champion 2006 softball team who posted a school-record 22 wins in 2008. n Hilary Murray, Class of 2008, goalie on the field hockey team, center fielder in softball and versatile basketball player. n Carly Becker, Class of 2006, a fencer who led the foil team to championships and was herself an individual State Champion. n John Marchak, Class of 1970, a three-sport athlete who placed second in the State wrestling championships in his senior season. As a team: The 1967 (10-0-2) and 1968 (10-1-1) girls' field hockey teams. As a coach: Jeffrey Steele, who led the 2006 Girls' softball team to State Championship, and the 2007 and 2008 teams to sectional titles. As contributors: n James Crossin, founder of the Hunterdon Lions Track Club, the youth feeder program for the high school. n John McGourty Sr., past president of the NHHS Booster Club.
