What's better than spending an afternoon in beautiful downtown Clinton? When you add watching the duckies go over the falls and cheering your duck on to the finish line for a chance to win great prizes – and all for a great cause – it's super fun! The Great Hunterdon Rubber Ducky Race will take place on Sunday afternoon, July 14, in downtown Clinton at the falls. Race start is 2:00 pm. "Last year we had a great race outcome," said Lynn Arnold, Rubber Ducky Race Director, "raising over $12,000. We hope to have even more ducks in the race this year and raise even more money for charity!" Individuals can sponsor a duck for $10 and have the opportunity to win one of several great prizes. First prize is a four-day, three-night Walt Disney World Package for two (includes airfare for two, hotel plus Park Passes) or a trip of equivalent value. Proceeds from this event benefit the American Cancer Society and the Cancer Support Community CNJ. Commercial event sponsorships are also available. There are various sponsorship levels ranging from $100 to $2500. Sponsors can receive quadruple media exposure as, depending on the sponsorship level, they may be highlighted at all four of Clinton Sunrise Rotary's annual events. The major sponsor to date for the 2019 events is Market Pizza, located in the Stockton Market. https://www.facebook.com/MarketPizza/ "The Clinton Sunrise Rotary has been a viable part of the northern Hunterdon community for many years," stated Christopher Knoll, Clinton Sunrise Rotary President, "and this year we are celebrating our 30th Anniversary! Our members work together to address both the needs of our local community and in the international arena. Locally, we have provided financial support to various community agencies such as the Open Cupboard Food Pantry and the Clinton Police, Fire & Rescue Squads. The club has also provided to the Town of Clinton a Fit Trail in Hunts Mill Park (2015), the Little Free Library (2017) and bike racks (2018) on Allie's Way. In addition, we provide scholarships for local high school students; collaborate with Hunterdon County Polytech to bring the 'Bridging the Gap' program, an educational business skills workshop, to the students; conduct an annual blood drive; contribute to the safety of our children and community by purchasing and donating a 'Speed Caution' sign for the town of Clinton; sponsor a free Fishing Derby for area youth; conduct a Dictionary Project with Clinton Public School and assist local residents in need with emergency funding. Internationally, we sponsor 'Polio Plus' - a Rotary program whose aim is to eradicate polio worldwide; and we support the 'Homes of Hope' project in Ecuador building low-cost housing for single mothers and their families." Funds raised from commercial sponsorships and race entries help to support these projects. Information about the event and sponsorship opportunities is available on our website: www.
