The tournament will be in "Best Ball" format with a delicious Italian Buffet for lunch. There will be an awards ceremony and raffles following. During the awards luncheon there will be testimonies from several Good News Home residents about their journey towards recovery. The Good News Home for Women has been home to hundreds of women who have walked through our doors desperate, lonely and broken. They come from all walks of life since no one is immune to the disease of addiction and the heartache it brings to the afflicted and their family and friends as well. We are one of a small number of women-only residential rehabilitation centers in the state. s h O W K i d s i n v i t a t i O n a l t h e a t r e W O r K s h O p p r e s e n t s r e a l l y r o s i e Come see ShowKids Invitational Theatre Workshop in Really Rosie, a fun musical that transports you back to your childhood, as the cast of young local talent takes you into a city neighborhood in the summertime where imaginations run wild. Attention all Really Rosie alumni: SKIT invites you to attend the Really Rosie Reunion! In conjunction with the performances, photos of original casts will be shared. Then, alumni will be asked to perform part of a number with the newest actor in the same role. More information about the Really Rosie Reunion can be found on the SKIT Facebook page (www.facebook.com/ShowKids/). Audiences will join the kids from Avenue P in Brooklyn on a hot, humid summer day as they follow Rosie's hilarious dream of making a movie about her life. Rosie is the self-proclaimed star, director and casting agent for the entire extravaganza. Since a big producer from Los Angeles is expected to arrive soon, Rosie's friends audition for her in the hope of getting a role. The result is a memorable trip back to childhood imagination and its endless possibilities. "There is no such thing as fantasy unrelated to reality," said writer Maurice Sendak. Really Rosie, a musical based on The Nutshell Library novels by Maurice Sendak, features music written by Carole King. Originally shown as an animated TV special on CBS in February 1975, it was later revamped for its opening off- Broadway in 1980. Leading the cast in the title role are two of Hunterdon County's talented young ladies: Emily Rush, of Annandale, will be Rosie at the 2pm performance, and Riley Conaty, of Clinton Township, will take on the role at 7:30pm. The SKIT Workshop cast of Really Rosie features 22 actors ranging in age from 7-14, supported by a small handful of adults. The Workshop serves as a learning experience and a stepping stone to the more advanced theater productions, such as Newsies, directed and produced by Carolyn Newman this past January. Show Kids Invitational Theater (SKIT) is a non-profit repertory community theater, founded in 1986 by Carolyn B. Newman. She also directs and produces each show. In 2015, Ms. Newman, a Hall of Fame Member, was inducted into the New Jersey Association of Community Theater. Her talent in offering consistently exceptional shows has earned much recognition as indicated by over 170 nominations bestowed upon SKIT, including the Perry, with Shrek the Musical winning "outstanding Production of a Musical" by NJACT.
