A practical guide for surviving the tasks associated with the death of a loved one", addresses Probating a Will, Social Security, Military Benefits, Funeral Information and other relevant subjects. And, most importantly, What To Do While Everybody is Still Alive. If you'd like to buy a copy, please email Ruth @ ruth.ella@comcast.net. The Good: • Amazon "Buy with one click". What a shopping bonanza. No searching for a parking spot, no traffic congestion, no weather problems. However, I will always enjoy local shopping in our quaint little town of Clinton. • The nurses and patient care assistants on 3 West at Hunterdon Medical Center. Dedicated, courteous, efficient and caring – they made my recent stay as a patient at least tolerable. • David Muir, who does the newscast every week night at 6:30 pm on ABC. He is tops in the field and someone I would dearly love to meet and chat with. (Are any of you connected to him?) • Ceiling fans. They enhance my comfort on the porch and bedroom. Wonderful, quiet breezes with the click of a switch. • My Lincoln rocking chair. Such a comfortable place to read and watch TV. And it's perfectly acceptable for old great grandmothers to do so. • Books by Liane Moriarity and Elizabeth Berg. In addition I've just re-read Walden by Henry David Thoreau. I wouldn't opt for two years in a remote cabin in the woods but I completely understand the joy of solitude. • Edy's coffee ice cream. While focusing on a soft diet after my recent hospitalization I discovered this flavorful treat. It glides down effortlessly, especially at three o'clock in the morning. • Revlon eyebrow pencil. I look really weird sans eyebrows and mine are skinny thin at best. Even with them penciled in the result leaves a lot to be desired. • Netflix – the best invention since sliced bread. The Bad • The recent hike in postage stamps to 55 cents a letter. I still remember fondly when stamps were three cents and postcards were a penny. And we had TWICE a day mail delivery. • The obscene cost of greeting cards. I spend almost as much on cards as I do on gifts. Does that make me a real "cheapie"? • Robo calls. I must get three or four every day, so am thankful for caller ID. But those guys just won't give up. (Who and where is "V786B05LM4'?!) • The racist diet I was put on after diverticulitis. White bread, white rice, white pasta, etc. Ugh! Will be glad to return to a normal diet. • Bursitis, arthritis, tendonitis and, the very worst, diverticulitis. First I thought I was going to die – and then I was afraid I wouldn't. The absolute pits!!! The Ridiculous • Our poorly functioning United States government. Don't Miss the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Downtown Clinton on Sunday, March 10 at 3:00 pm and the Aer-Party following the Parade at the Historic Red Mill!
