In the past few years there have been many new technological advances coming out. Finally there is something new for Podiatrists. Podiatrists treat foot and ankle conditions on a daily basis. One of the treatments for many of these conditions is custom made arch supports called orthotics. Custom orthotics are able to be worn in many different shoes and sneakers and can relieve painful foot conditions such as flat feet, plantar fasciitis, tendinitis and other foot problems. These devices also can prevent future problems such as bunions, hammertoes, arthritic joints. Custom orthotics have been made from a cast or mold of the patient's foot. These molds or casts then have to be sent to a laboratory where they are fabricated. Special corrections can be placed into the orthotic for individual problems. Many times these molds or casts are not that accurate and time prohibitive. Just this month there is a new casting method. It utilizes a digital scanner and an IPAD. This revolutionary device can capture a 3-D image of the patient's foot in a matter of seconds. Corrections can easily be added and then images sent electronically to the laboratory. The end result is a more accurate image or impression with decreased time in both scanning and making of orthotics. Most insurance companies will cover or pay for the orthotics. If you have any foot problems, issues and questions, please contact Howard J. Tzorfas, D.P.M. at 908.236.6999, or visit: www.DrTzorfas.com. The North Hunterdon Newcomers Club has invited Laura Kinney, a certified financial coach to present a mini workshop on The Seven Baby Steps to Financial Freedom based on Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University. Laura, along with her husband, Jim, a Certified Financial Planner, started Financial Pathway Advisors in Bridgewater in 2007. She has been working as a fee-only financial planner since 2004. Seeing a need beyond traditional investment management and retirement planning, Financial Pathways began offering financial coaching services (in addition to traditional financial planning) in 2017. Financial coaching addresses the needs of individuals and families who may not be a good fit for traditional financial planning, but who still need expert (and unbiased) financial guidance and advice. Both Jim and Laura received financial coach training and certification from financial radio personality and author Dave Ramsey. As financial coaches, they help people work toward financial peace, utilizing Dave's now famous seven baby steps. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy this "Free" informative meeting on Tuesday, February 12 at 7:00 pm at the Clinton Rescue Squad, second floor meeting room. Sponsored by the North Hunterdon Newcomers Club. The Clinton First Aid and Rescue Squad is located in Clinton on Route 173, across from the old A&P.
