1 7 D e c e m b e r 2 0 1 8 enrichment opportunities. Academic Enrichment: E n g l i s h L a n g u a g e Arts and Math Enrichment groups meet weekly. Activities are extensions of the grade level curriculum that is occuring in classrooms. G r o u p s a r e f l e x i b l e a n d m e m b e r s a r e reconsidered at the start of each unit. Student Council: School Council has had their first meetings. They held their annual Pink Day fundraiser and Candy Corn fundraiser. All money raised from the two fundraisers went to the RVS Relay for Life team. Bucks for Books began at the end of November to help raise money to buy books for the Camden Collection. Memory Book: Memory Book also had their first meeting. Students selected the cover for this school year's book! • Photographers: Photographers have gone through the training process and are able to borrow cameras to help record events at RVS. • Wordmasters: Students participating in the Wordmasters Competition received the first list of words and definitions. They are practicing diligently. They have begun to discuss the possible relationships that could occur between sets of words. • Continental Math League: 4th and 5th Grade Students participated in their first contest in November. The first contest for Third Grade Students will be in January. Students will have 30 minutes to answer six challenging word problems. • Reporters: RVS's Eagle Times Reporters have met several times. Students have selected story ideas and began planning and writing articles. First articles were due in November. Clinton Township Middle School CTMS is a busy place after 2:30, full of co-curricular sports and after school clubs! • The CTMS Drama Club is pleased to announce that they will feature the play Mary Poppins Jr.. Auditions for parts and stage crew occurred in November. Please mark your 2019 calendars for the shows which will take place place on March 7, 8, and 9. We know this production will be supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! • The Fall Season of Sports events offered opportunities for students to engage in boys' and girls' soccer, volleyball and cross country. In winter we will offer both boys' and girls' basketball and cheerleading. • The CTMS SnowHawks Ski & Snowboarding Club will run for six weeks starting in January. This is an excellent opportunity for our students to learn how to ski , snowboard or improve their skill level. Our after school clubs span a variety of areas. • In Art Club, students work on a variety of projects both individual and collaborative that include sculpture, painting, and printmaking. In Movie/Technology Club, students have an opportunity to be creative and learn more about technology. Some of our other year round offerings are: the CTMS Yearbook Club, Camerata and Guitar Club. Please mark your calendars for upcoming Clinton Township Middle School concerts! All concerts will take place in the auditorium and will start at 7:00 pm. December 4 CTMS Choral Concert December 11 CTMS Band Concert. Don't Miss Them! Our Ninth Annual CTMS Relay for Life will be held on Friday, March 1 from 6:00-9:00 pm. This is a family and community event, and everyone is welcome! Our community has raised over $300,000 in the fight against cancer! Clinton Township Foundation for Educational Excellence hosted our first-ever Casino Night on Friday, September 21 from 6:00 to 10:00 pm at Beaver Brook Country Club!
