This tradition began 40 years ago when the Woman's Club of Tewksbury
was first started - it was a way to celebrate the holidays and to add to the silver
collection that we now have - a beautiful tea service. The tea will be served as a
traditional English tea with cucumber sandwiches and scones with lemon curd
(along with a lot of other delicious treats). Please be sure to join us to kick off
your own holiday traditions! Tuesday, December 4 at The Manor (behind the
Oldwick Firehouse), 9: 30 am for our meeting and luncheon. The Old Turnpike
School Choir will be performing!

For many of us, December can be the most stressful month of the
year. We have just navigated the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, and the
pressure is on to enjoy ourselves right through the New Year. Depending on
your circumstance, however, you may feel overwhelmed by all there is to do or
feel grief for holidays gone by when a loss has occurred.
There is no "one fits all" advice for surviving stress during the
holidays, but there are many resources available to us including this article
(www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/stress-management/in-depth/stress/
art-20047544) from the Mayo Clinic. Pay attention to your feelings and seek
out advice particular to your situation. If you're overwhelmed, remember that
it's okay to say no to an invitation to that cookie exchange or secret Santa event;
your friend will understand.
If you're longing for a tradition that can no longer be, take solace in
the memories and know that it is okay to change and create new traditions.
Take some moments for yourself and remember that you can take control of
the holiday season, so that it can be a time of joy and peace.
