This popular event sold out in 2017. A social hour, including cocktails (cash bar) and passed hors d'oeuvres, will be followed by a premium seated dinner and entertainment provided by three top comedy acts. All proceeds from the event benefit the YMCA Financial Assistance Fund, a confidential program making Y programs and services available to all members of the Hunterdon County community, regardless of their ability to pay. This year's talented comedians are Robin Fox, Mick Thomas and headliner Michael Somerville. Robin Fox is seen regularly at Gotham Comedy Club and Broadway Comedy Club. She is the Grand Prize winner of the 11th Annual Gilda's Club Laugh-off and has made several television appearances. Born and raised in Ireland, Mick Thomas' audiences love his honest and original take on American society and life as a dedicated family man. He has appeared at The Borgata Hotel and Casino, Stand Up NY and The Comedy Cellar, as well as on Gotham Comedy Live on AXS TV. Michael Somerville is a comedian, TV host, writer, and advice guru. Somerville wrote and hosted the reality show Wingman, imparts humorously insightful advice on The Hallmark Channel and has performed standup on The Late Show with David Letterman. He also serves as a panelist for VH1, Bravo and The History Channel and has hosted shows for Nickelodeon, Starz and Encore. "Y Comedy Night is a great night out with friends to enjoy great comedians. But it's so much more than just a comedy show; it's a wonderful way to give back to the community and support the Y's financial assistance program which benefits more than 1,450 local children and families right here in Hunterdon County," said Jason Halpin, Y Comedy Night Event Chair. In the past two years alone, the HCYMCA provided nearly $1 million in financial assistance in the form of scholarships for programs such as child care, summer camp, swim lessons and programs for cancer survivors. The evening includes a Silent Auction with chances to win fabulous gifts and experiences from local vendors. Tickets to Comedy Night are $95 per person and must be purchased in advance. Tickets are available at www.hcymca.org/comedy. The Y would like to thank this year's sponsors for their commitment to the Hunterdon County community.
