6 N o v e m b e r 2 0 1 8 www.ClintonTwpNewsletter.com Dear Julie – Good day! I hope you're doing well! First, I'd like to comment on the beautiful cover pages you've been putting together; they are just lovely! Ruth's stories always make me laugh! Additionally, I'm thankful for the impressive ad designs you have created for our McDonald's Restaurant in Clinton. Many times after receiving your proof, I am just so busy that I only take a quick glance and give it the OK; knowing that you have already proof-read it for me. I have confidence and trust in your ability because you understand our business ad needs. As a local business owner, I'm thankful for the time you save me in helping to inform our community. Finally, I wish you the best in your empty nest; know this is the time to rekindle what originally brought you together. The independence our children gain from our love is immeasurable! Have a great November! – Diane P. Koury, Proud Owner/Operator since 1998, McDonald's Restaurants: Clinton, Flemington, Washington, NJ Julie, I hope all is well. We both have now sent the youngest off to college. As always, I enjoyed the October CT Newsletter and especially your column, to which I can almost always relate. Just a quick fyi; toward the end of your column I think you meant to distinguish between 'Early Action' and Early Decision' college applications. A minor point... Another great issue! Best, Jeff Knapp Dear Jeff – Oops! That's an important correction – thank you for letting me know. It's been great going through this college process alongside you and all of our North family! – Thanks, Julie Dear Readers – Through the years Jeff has helped a number of people navigate the college admissions process. Find out more from his article on pages 24 and 25! Hi Julie, Thanks so much for your help and support! We ended up having a 30% increase in attendance (for 'A Culinary Affair'), with over 250 people and the event was a great success with overwhelmingly positive feedback. The support from you and the Clinton Township Newsletter helped spread the word for us to raise money for these worthy causes (Hunterdon Hospice and Visiting Health and Supportive Services). Thanks again and have a great weekend. I am going to go through a few things in this article for you to try to help yourself. If not then we will know that you will need to go see a podiatrist to see if he or she can help you. First thing you need to consider, do your feet hurt you all the time? If they don't, when do they hurt? Do they hurt in your shoes? Okay are you wearing the right shoes? You need to be wearing the correct shoes for the activity that you're doing. If you are trying to walk or exercise in thin shoes, loafers, heels, work boots, then you are not wearing the correct shoes. Now that you have fixed this problem let's look to see if they are properly fitted. You need to have a thumbs width from the end of your biggest toe to the end of the shoe. If your toes are all the way to the end of the shoe than your shoe is too small. You may not be the same shoe size that you were years ago. Your feet can stretch out, expand , get bigger. So you need to buy bigger shoes. You also need to get new shoes. Those old sneakers that are worn down are not doing you any good. Let's find out if you have other things going on. Do you have numbness in your feet or your toes? Does this happen all the time or once in a while? If this happens all the time then you may have neuropathy which can be related to diabetes. You should have your feet checked by a podiatrist. If this happens once in a while then your feet may get better when you're wearing the right shoes. If you're having heel pain that only happens when you get up in the morning or when you get up from a sitting position you may have plantar fasciitis. This is an inflammation of the ligament on the bottom of your foot. There are a lot of different treatments out there which you can try. But I wouldn't recommend over stretching or using a frozen soda can too much. Obviously if it's not going away in a couple weeks then you should go see a podiatrist. He or she can help you a lot. And, no, you don't always have to get a cortisone injection. If you have any foot problems, issues and questions, please contact Howard J. Tzorfas, D.P.M. at 908.236.6999, or visit: www.DrTzorfas.com. Conveniently located in the Hunterdon Hills Plaza, 1386 Hwy 22W, Lebanon.
