This year's event will be held on November 9 at the Flemington Elks Lodge, 165 NJ 31 S, Flemington, and promises to be a fun-filled evening featuring Vinnie Brand, owner of the renowned Stress Factory Comedy Club. Mr. Brand is also known for his work on Last Comic Standing, The Opie and Anthony Show, and Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn. The evening begins at 7:30 pm and will include a cocktail hour with a cash bar, appetizers, the comedy show and a 50/50 raffle. Tickets are $35 each and can be purchased via the CASA SHaW website at www.casashaw.org or by sending a check to CASA SHaW, 150 Boulevard, Ste. 1, Washington, NJ 07882. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for this event. All proceeds will go to support the expansion of advocacy services to children in foster care in Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties. CASA SHaW's volunteer advocates independently gather information, assess the children's needs, facilitate services and make recommendations to the court on their behalf. CASA SHaW is part of a statewide network of community-based, non-profit programs that recruit, screen, train and supervise volunteers to "Speak Up for a Child" removed from home due to abuse or neglect. CASA is the only program in New Jersey that uses trained volunteers to work one- on-one with children, ensuring that each one gets the services needed and achieves permanency in a safe, nurturing home. Visit www.casashaw.org or call 908/689-5515 for more information about CASA of Somerset, Hunterdon, and Warren Counties. Or, to find a local CASA program in your county, visit www.casaofnj.org.
