On Wednesday, October 10, the Auxiliary will host an Open House at Hunterdon Medical Center in Conference Rooms A and B from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm located at 2100 Westcott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822. Guests will have the opportunity to meet current Auxiliary members and learn more about Wine, Women and Shoes as well as the various ways they may volunteer and become more involved in this fun event. Wine, Women and Shoes will have wine tastings, appetizers, designer shopping, a dream closet raffle and a fashion show. The event will take place in the Spring of 2019. The Auxiliary is a dynamic volunteer organization playing a vital role in the hospital's mission. Auxiliary volunteers have hosted a variety of fundraising events over the years which have contributed over two million dollars to the Hunterdon Healthcare System, supporting their commitment to provide quality healthcare for the community. Some of the Auxiliary fundraising and community activities include A Culinary Affair, Holiday Cookie Sale, Holiday Carolers, Lights of Love and the Auxiliary Scholarship program. A Culinary Affair is held in September, with samplings from local restaurants, wineries and breweries to benefit Hunterdon Hospice and Visiting Health and Supportive Services. The Holiday Cookie Sale takes place in December with proceeds benefitting Briteside Adult Day Care Center. Lights of Love is an annual tree lighting ceremony held in honor or memory of family and friends, complete with a holiday choir and entertainment. Guests will be provided light refreshments and have an opportunity to receive door prizes. " m o c k T a i l " p a r T Y o p e n s T H e T e W k s b u r Y H i s T o r i c a l s o c i e T Y J u r i e d a r T e x H i b i T i o n T H u r s d a Y , o c T o b e r 11 A "Mocktail" Party Reception will open the 27th Juried Art Show and Sale, sponsored by the Tewksbury Historical Society, on Thursday, October 11, 6:00- 8:00 pm. The Reception and Show will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church, Christian Education Building, 15 Miller Street, Oldwick, 08858. Tickets for the Party are $25 in advance and $30 at the door, with the privilege of returning during the week as often as desired. Karen Ross, Reception Chair, and her committee have created an evening of elegant food and fine non-alcoholic libations. The festivities will include butlered hors d'oeuvres, food stations and a standing bar, where Signature Drinks created especially for the show will be served. Awards based on the decisions of Jurists Joel Popadics, Judge of Selection, and Julie Goetz, Judge of Awards, will be presented by show Co- Chairs, Shaun Van Doren and Andy Calamaras. They include "Best in Show", "Best of Tewksbury", the Marion Katnack Memorial Award - Tewksbury Landscape", plus 1st, 2nd 3rd Place and Honorable Mentions in the categories of Landscape, Florals, Animal Kingdom, Abstracts, Still Life and Urban/Rural Views. Media represented in the show includes oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolors, mixed media collages, etchings, silk screens, lithographs and photography. The Show continues through Saturday, October 20. Public viewing and sale will take place on Friday, October 12, 12-8 pm, Saturday, October 13, 10 am-6 pm, Sunday, October 14, 1-5 pm, Monday thru Thursday, October 15-18, 12-5 pm, Friday, October 19, 12-8 pm and Saturday, October 20, 10 am-3 pm.
